If you didn’t know that Team Canada had won the last two Spengler Cups, you wouldn’t be alone. This yearly hockey tournament which takes place at the same time as the U-20 World Junior Championship deserves a bigger audience for the 2017 edition because of the fact that it is very likely that this will be the same team (at least, very similar) to the one that represents Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
There are plenty of players on the team that you may not recognize at first glance, but there are enough NHL games on this roster to make you believe that not only will they three-peat at the Spengler Cup, but they may just make it to the medal round against the other NHL-less nations.
